Samsung and Cricket unveil world’s largest functional cell phone
Cricket and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) unveiled today in Chicago a Samsung Messager of epic proportions. In fact, at 15-feet tall by 11-feet wide, it’s the largest working cell phone the world has ever known — a fact to be confirmed by a Guinness World Records representative who will be on-hand.
“We are excited to recognize the world’s largest working cell phone from Cricket and Samsung Mobile as a new Guinness World Record,” said Danny Girton, Jr., Guinness World Records adjudication executive. “As this was a successful first record attempt, it is a tremendous accomplishment and we are delighted to welcome them into the Guinness World Records family.”
And that’s not all, the tremendous Samsung Messager will be on display in Fidelity Plaza in downtown Chicago until March 15. The public are invited to visit and make free phone calls and send texts from the device.
UPDATE: The Guinness World Records has certified the 15-foot tall by 11-foot wide Samsung Messager as the “largest mobile (cell) phone!”
