Further demonstrating manufacturers’ trust in DisplayLink USB graphics technology, DisplayLink Corp. announced today that its latest chip is being used in the new Targus USB 2.0 Docking Station with Video (ACP51US), available now.

The upgraded Targus USB 2.0 Docking Station with Video offers four times the performance of the earlier Targus docks because of the DisplayLink DL-195 software and silicon solution now integrated inside.

The new DisplayLink USB graphics solution enables the Targus USB 2.0 Docking Station with Video to dock any notebook or netbook quickly and easily to an external monitor, keyboard, Ethernet, mouse, printer, speakers or other devices in seconds, via a familiar and fast USB 2.0 connection. Adding an extra monitor via USB helps people boost productivity while saving time and the cost of installing graphics cards.

The DisplayLink DL-195 processor supports higher HD display resolutions and has software and hardware advances that increase overall performance, allowing for smoother video playback and interactivity. The DL-195 supports resolutions up to 2048 x 1152.

The Targus USB 2.0 Docking Station with Video has a unique, ergonomic shape that allows notebooks to be placed on top of the docking station, saving space and allowing for improved natural cooling of the notebook. Targus USB 2.0 Docking Station with Video also features two high-power USB ports, providing twice the power of standard USB ports, ideal for recharging iPods, PDAs, phones and other USB devices.

The DL-195 is part of the new DisplayLink DL-1×5 chip series, which integrate a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 compliant device input and multiple video outputs including DVI (TMDS), analog (DSUB15), as well as LVDS for direct connection to a LCD panel and 12/24-bit RGB (TTL) for connectivity to external DisplayPort or HDMI devices. The integrated DVI and analog video DAC mean less design work and expense for device manufacturers. All video outputs support 32-bit True Color, providing high-quality graphics and support for full-screen HD video playback.
