For the first time, in my life as a mac user, Apple puts its pants on and goes to hunt. Everytime a new upgrade of any Apple product, there is an automatic price reduction, but this time is totally different, Apple is on a mission, not just to sell 10 million iphones this year, but to posititon the iphone as the premier mobile platform, even if they (Apple) have to shake the devil’s hands.

The business orientation of this new upgrade and the price adjustment will put some pression to rivals, those that were creating new products with more and more features, but in the end its products were not more than a iphone copy, now the war is moved to new ground, price vs features and Apple has the strong lead again, but know the iphone is more than just an iphone, it is a complete platform that provides excellent features for Mobile users, Hardcore Gamers and Business People, plus and iPod.

Can RIM turns its business oriented Blackberry brand into a gaming platform and at the same time approaches Businesses with more and more feature ready solutions? Or can they have a product that compete with the iphone in every aspect? The long answer is not, it is a hard task to bring a complete solution that fits everybody and Apple is doing it the right way, good product, good price strategy, excellent features, a better mobile experience with Mobile Me and what is more compelling is that they are providing all those features in Microsoft Holy Ground.

The iPhone 3G is out, with all the features we all knew and a new price, a price that will break down the last barrier between you and your iPhone and what is worse is the message Apple is sending to its rivals, some kind of “keep out my track, breaks not working”, the only phone that can beat the iphone is the iphone, got it?.

Even Die-Hard anti Mac, Paul Thurrot is recommending to buy the iPhone 3G in masses: “I’m almost unreservedly excited about the iPhone 3G and implore you to seriously consider making the switch. I’ll have more information about the iPhone 3G in the SuperSite Blog and in an upcoming MobileMe preview before my final review hits next month. But don’t wait on me: It’s time to start evaluating Apple’s innovative new smart phone. Finally, the iPhone really is the smart phone for the rest of us.”

It got to be good for somebody that is always looking for the baaad things in any Apple product to suddenly start recommending people to buy the iPhone and provide a real and positive review, could it really means what we all already know, it is really a good product.

To compete with rivals in the mobile business, Apple licensed Exchange from Microsoft and merged it with .mac, creating an ultra elegant, easy to use and features rich Mobile Me service that is almost impossible to avoid, the service is so interesting that Google and Microsoft have to been knocking they heads on the wall, there is nothing on the market that compete with the INTEGRATION of Mobile Me, in your iPhone, your PC, your Macbook and the net. I think that this week will be a hard week for some software analyst, trying to evalute and mimmick Mobile Me.

My hope is that some of them, I mean Google can create this integration with all of its services, it would be nice, I will keep dreaming.
